Lower clutch adjustment problem!
#1
Hey guys, I have adjusted the lower clutch cable many times before but today my swan neck spanner (well the monkey using it) has stripped the 2 metal tabs that fold out presumably to stop the whole mechanism from sliding in ? Haven't rode the fazer yet because it's tipping it down out there but the cable adjusted fine afterwards and seems to be working.

Now I'm worried the clutch is going to slip like f**k or I'm going to damage something without the little metal tabs doing there job.

Has anyone had this issue before?

I've never seen a tab washer in there before. That's not to say there isn't one, just I have never seen one. The clutch wont slip.
Hold the screw still, slacken the locknut and then adjust the screw. Hold the screw still and tighten the locknut. Job done.

was just in there the other day and i didnt see a lock washer - the nut on the outside of the screw is the locking mechanism as far as i can see
but then your picture shows it so it must be there - i wouldnt worry about it

It's not a washer I mean , that little bit of metal is 1 of 2 , the metal ring that the lock nut mech sits in had a tab either side of it , just wondered why they were there and what they did

is the tab not used to hold the rubber cover that you have to remove to access the adjustment.

No, that's just a plastic bung.
