2002 Carb or fuel injected?
#1
Need to put my mind at rest as I got into a bit of a tet-a-tet regarding the enging on the fazer 600 yesterday.

So is a 2002 FZS600 a Carb engine or Fuel injected?

As far as I understand it they were Carb'd until the FZ6 came along in 2004 with a new fuel injected system!

Thank you, I knew I was correct this guy was making out he used to own a 2002 FZS600 with fuel injection but the fuel injected model which was the FZ-6S not the FZS600 which came along in around 2004.

Cheers I can put my mind at rest now as he really got me questioning it  :thumbup

All FZS models (600 and 1000) are carbs.
FZ6 and FZ1 are both injected.
Another ex-Fazer rider that is a foccer again

Aye certainly not I would have thought, unless it had been converted!  I wouldn't see the point in a conversion though, I'd personally just go out and buy a ready made FZ6  :rolleyes

that would take a lot to convert as its a different engine entirly in the FZ6. I reckon if he did own a fuel injected Fazer then he has his dates mixed up and does not know the stages the 600 fazer went through: FZS600 Box eye to FZS600 Fox eye and then the FZ6 with the R6(ish) engine.

Anything is possible if you chuck enough money at it, with this what's the point it would cost a small fortune and you'd get no gain.  The crab bike will out perform the early injection bikes in all areas except emissions.

So true, thats one of the reasins why I bought my fazer rather than the FZ6 I saw, plus the FZ6 was more expensive

Someone might have transferred a 2002 plate onto the FZ6 and sold the bike on and he didn't notice the number plate was older than the bike?

No doubt about it what-so-ever Scoobie is correct, the guy who said he had an injected 2002 600 Fazer is one of 3 things

1: He is deluded
or
2: He is a Liar
or
3: He is a prick
My guess is a he is combination of all 3.
