screen: found a use for an old visor
#1
new helmet arrived today and rather than having a spare helmet i decided to harvest the visor.

Put it in the oven and had a rod along the length of it to straighten it.. eventually it was soft i chucked it in cool water removed the rod after it cooled and it went back to its normal shape.. visors are awesome!

got the dremel out, cut the 2 sides off and ground down the tab for opening it, sprayed it black and done.

tried it on the outside of my original screen but it just looked silly and would mean drilling holes and bolting it on..

tried it on the inside and it looked pretty cool! the original fittings for the screen held it in place so just a case of tightening the screws on the screen and its held firmly.

how much difference in the wind itll make i dont know yet.
before: yes it does need a wash!

was looking to get out tonight and have a go but i lost enthusiasm.

Just noticed in the last picture the left side does have a big gap.. i snapped the plastic screw ages ago and have found a replacement yet so the gap would be smaller.

That's a nice hack Paul,  :thumbup  what's the bracket mod thingy in the middle of the handlebars for?

satnav.

the original plastic that the satnav slides into was pretty loose so electrical tape over it soon fixed it.

its the original satnav mount tighten up on a gun scope mount. was mostly made as a last minute thing as the suction pad refused to stick to my screen and i needed it within the hour, its just stayed since as it works fine.

Sat on the bike i could see it will do nothing, its angled lower than the standard screen as i thought when i fitted it...

It makes a good sun shade for my satnav though!

opened it up and had no difference, ill see if i can change the angle of it a bit, it would work so much better on the otherside but look sillier.
