Front Forks Replacement
#1
Hey all,

So frustratingly I only replaced my fork's oil seals last week and now the rust on my chrome has already destroyed them again.
As the local shop says about £150 + labour to re-chrome, does anyone know the part-number / name of the piece I could replace (inner forks of FZS600 2002 model) as they seem to be eluding me on ebay.

That or a recommendation that I should just take the re-chrome option?

Any advice gladly appreciated,

Martin

I bought a new stanchion on ebay, was £100 I think and slightly different material to the OEM it isn't quite as shiny however is allegedly "10% stronger". I'll try and find the link, only thing is you have to remove a part from the bottom of your old OEM stanchion and then press it into the bottom of the new one and knurl the edge over to hold it in place. I took it to a garage and they only charged me a tenner which was nice. Other than that, I would probably get new bushes while you're there but its up to you if you think your old ones are okay.

This is the one I got I think, although mine was a different British company called ABE. You will need to get the shuttles installed.
