So the paper part of the driving licence will be invalid, I know someone who has still only got a paper licence?

How many on here had or still have a"proper" licence?

Ruddy hell, how old are you :eek
I still got my pink paper copy from 1973.
If you have only got a paper licence are they going to make you pay for the card type?

Im pretty sure holders of the old paper licences get to keep them but it's if you are on the new type you relinquish the paper part.....dont quote me on that though :\

It's only the counter-part paper to the card driving licenses that are being removed. Those who have an existing paper license that pre-dates the card licenses don't need to do anything

Only a paper one even though it looks more like lace curtain than paper. I'm in no rush to pay for it to be changed.... now if it was free to renew that's another matter.

I had to get a photo one when I hit three score year and ten. I think it was free because it is compulsory to renew your licence when you are old and decrepit. I'm not sure, probably for the same reason  Wink .

I had to renew my card photo licence, I think it was because it was 10 years old it cost £20 plus £5 for a new photo, the one before was when I moved address but I think that was free?
