I have a stubby can such I'm booked in to get balanced and probly a jet kit, I also have a KN filter that I haven't fitted, I'm tempted to chuck it on and see how the bike feels (stubby can with baffle ) or would this just lean the engine out even more and better to wait for the setup ? Any thoughts ? I'm guna get it balanced with the baffle out m, but haven't run it much without the baffle as it runs worse than having it in place.
What makes you think it's running lean?
Standard set up is a little rich, so you really don't need to rejet, and you'll notice nobody hardly ever talks about rejetting on here because they don't need it.
The balance is always a good thing, but fit the K&N beforehand so that the carbs are set up with filter and exhaust in place the way you intend to run it in the future.

I feel it could be crisper on power delivery, every now and then it can stumble on throttle application, like its growing very slightly, harder to start now than it was with factory can (needs a tiny turn of trotter with the starter button and then a throttle hold for 20/30 seconds) Maybe I should pull out the baffle and fit the filter and see how it runs, as in my optimistic mind I'm thinking that It might suit everything perfectly.... :rolleyes :b
The balance could really help, I did mine at home the other day, only one of my carbs was properly out, but once all levelled the bike was a tiny bit quieter, less popping and much smoother, especially at lower revs.
Before that I'd balanced them 2 summers ago.
You could always do a quick TPS check, make sure that's behaving itself and in the right position. They'll check it anyway but no harm in you having a quick look.

yea I will take a look at the at the Sensor, give it a clean, but I'm sure it's the change in back pressure really..

Don't bother entertaining the idea of a jet kit, those on here that have tried always take the jets back to standard!
There's a reason that there isn't an 'off the shelf' kit available for the fazer!
Some say...
So u think I should take it to someone who knows how to balance carbs as I haven't got the foggiest idea, have it ready for how I want it (baffle out m, KN filter in) and go down that route, ie dynojet kits are a bit of a waste of money on this model ?
Put the air filter in yourself first, because for starters time is money, so no point in creating unnecessary work.
Forget about the idea of rejetting, there's simply no need for it, plus to do it all properly you're gonna need the bike Dyno'd, so more unnecessary cost.
Realistically i would say be prepared for an hours labour costs for a carb balance, so whatever the going rate is in your area. It does vary quite a bit depending on if you live outside Greater London, where we tend to get mugged off a lot.
