Why not have a section 'knowledge base' assign a mod to it, use it for sub forums:
FAQ
HotPoop
articles
101 and HOWTO

consolidate information sources from across the site into the above sub forums. Many of us-muskeg included- use a tab/smartphone and having this info in a forum structure simplifies things and extends s logical structure around the data warehouse on here

Sorry, just noticed this hiding in here.
We opted for the dropdowns as the previous incarnation of the board had so many sub forums that just before we transferred here from Yuku the majority of the boards weren't being posted in.

It seems to have worked thus far, but we can have a wee think and see if it would suit the peeps posting here more than it did previously.
