Fitted my bars but...

Hi all,

Finally got round to fitting my Renthal 755s today.

Relatively straight forward, just gotta adjust the switch gear when I ride and get it all nice and tight, get the tape on and whatnot.

My only query, is the front brake lines.

I've had to leave the lever further over to the left so it reaches  as it's so tight, even after re routing.

I was tempted to change the lines for braided, the time seems appropriate as this is too short anyway.

My friend has some lying around that may be long enough, BUT, they're 2 lines from the lever to the calipers, rather than one to a splitter then off to each caliper.

Will this do the job and be okay, or is the original setup the best to use etc?

Any advice or best places to buy? And also any advice on bleeding afterwards?

2 lines from the cylinder, i.e. one to each calliper is fine, its called a race setup. Bonus is less sealed points to leak.
I have it and many others do as well.

Ideal. Perhaps I'll tap my mate up to dig his lines out.

Will it give  a noticeable improvement as well as stop my line being so tight?

You'll also need a different banjo bolt, as the OE is designed for a single line, but when you have 2 at the MC, the bolt needs to be longer.

I thought the oem joiner had a longer one. 2 pipes go into one end of it and 1 pipe from the other

Is this not correct? Posted a pic up earlier but my phone told me I'd posted it twice when actually I hadn't at all!

No the 2 into 1 is via a splitter you can see it if you look up under faring by the lower yoke.

Yeah but one end has 2 pipes connected the other end has one connected. I took a pic looks like a longer banjo bolt to me but I may have that wrong...

Ah yeah sorry guess you are right, did it a while ago.
As long as the bolt is undamaged i guess it should work, just need new crush washers.

Or just anneal the old ones if they are copper.

Its a heat treatment process. Basically heat it up and let it cool naturally, don't quench it in anything.

For all it costs, just buy a new one rather than dicking about IMO.
