The speedo on my newly acquired FZS600 isn't working so I suspected the sender until I noticed that the trip counter is working. Does this suggest the problem lies with the speedo itself?

I can verify empirically that problems with the sensor or at least the wire to it cause affect both speed displayed and mileage counted in an apparently consistent manner, whether the result is speedo stuck on 0 or going berserk, so that sounds a reasonable assumption.

Thanks for the reply. Just fixed it. ![]() I noticed that the needle was stuck pointing straight downwards on the P of "MPH" rather than on the stop for zero. I pulled the clocks apart and gently nudged the needle anticlockwise past the 12 o'clock position and it parked itself at the zero stop. Just taken it for a test ride and it seems to be working ok. Not sure how it came to be stuck at what would equate to around 200mph in the first place though! |
