Makes me feel sick when i read these stories......especially the other one on here about the decapitation.......it aint stopping me going out but it is the reason that i sometimes dont overtake.....& then i feel like a dick afterwards coz i coulda done it......but im a safe dick that goes home.

Im not saying these poor fuckers weren't being safe......yep im a summer rider...on days like today there are hundreds of us in every county buzzing about....yes allot of the accidents are caused by cars....but those cars are on those roads day in day out all year round & i really think it catches everyone out when so many bikes suddenly appear on the roads......we see sun & so we switch on our road brains.........the average driver sees the sun & still needs a loaf of bread from tesco and thats as far as their brain is switching.

Poor buggers. Sad
Easiest way to go fast........don't buy a blue bike

It wouldn't be fun if it was easy, I just wish it wasn't this much fun.

That's me to a tee Noggy, I always say "I want to come back and ride the road again".  I always ride with my 2 girls in my head, I don't want to die or be injured for the sake of making up a few yards.

I'll always be one of the slowest, but I'll still have a big grin at the end of the day!  Smile

Sadly its this time of year when the accident rate for bikes skyrockets as the days get longer & warmer.
sometimes takes a while to bring our riding skills back up to speed at the same time having to share our crowded roads with the wannabe cage racers, caravanners, tractors cyclists, joggers etc etc. At the same time trying to pick a good riding line on our poorly maintained roads.
At the end of the day a successful ride out is going to be one that doesn't bring a trail a devastation into ours or other peoples lives when we put our beloved bikes away to enjoy another ride tomorrow!
Ride safe, foccers

Yep, I agree with Dave48 on this. Summer only rider's are at a greater risk from crashing after the first sunny riding day.
Take it easy on the first few rides, and re-hone your skills before you push it.
Better still, ride all year round!

Whatever you guys and girls do, be safe, and gods speed every journey!
Stop polishing it and ride the bloody thing!!

Sad to hear of any Biker losing his/her life. RIP
I watched many in South Wales over the weekend and certainly cringed at some of the overtaking maneuvers I witnessed.  :eek
A group of five I saw on a roundabout outside Abergavenny were putting incredible trust on car indicators on the roundabout. Another group of four overtaking into blind bends on the A465 to Hereford in follow the leader style :rolleyes .

Simple rule, put the brain into gear before the bike. I for one love a good quick spin, but calculate the risk first.
