Moving to Suffolk
#1
Hopefully, bar a few scribbles on paper, survey etc I'll be moving from London, the smog and the traffic to the small village of Thorndon in the wilds of the Suffolk countryside.

Made an offer on this 6 bed house that's been accepted and the wheels are now set in motion.

I've always moaned about finding people that live at addresses in the countryside that have no door number, buried up some country lane. It now seems I'll soon be joining them.  :lol

Getting pretty excited about it all but the thought of moving all the stuff I have here is pretty daunting  :o

So has anyone moved recently and can recommend a good removal firm. Either in Suffolk or London?

So no house number and even if it has a name at present you will probably wish to rename it. So with the possible start to a whole new topic, how about '' FOC-U Biker's Rest''

Wowsers.....lovely house, now stop showing off!  :b

We moved last year best tip I can give is pay the extra for the packing service.  I kid you not, we were due to move on the Tuesday and on the Sunday night our house was "as normal".  They came in on the Monday, and packed the bits and bobs into boxes then came in on the Tuesday, packed the rest and loaded it onto the van and delivered it all into our new house.

Stress free moving....YES PLEASE!!!  Highly recommend.

The company we used were from Chatham, Kent, propper salt of the earth guys who shamefully you probably wouldn't talk to down the pub, but such great guys and worked like trogans!

Ahh, Suffolk, the county of the never ending 30mph limit.  Some great roads but they put 30 mph limits through villages and then decided that it was pointless ending the limit when there was another village 3 miles down the road.......

Get off my land! I'm about 10 miles from Thorndon.
Hamiltons removals from Harleston Norfolk are a renowned removal firm local to Thorndon.
A good fast almost police free road is the A143 from Diss to Yarmouth. It's almost to fast to be honest, you could max any bike on it.
Back roads are good and a great ride is the tourist rout from Yoxford to the A140.

You bet!

Really looking forward to it. Came home this evening to see sold sign outside my house so things are moving on, though I know our buyers have done all the paperwork for their purchase, I've not had any letter on intent from them yet.

Bigralphie, You're more than welcome anytime, and you Jon and other foccers. Three of the six bedroom have their own on suite bathrooms so you can have one all for yourself. There is also an on suite and loo in the large downstairs utility room so after a muddy blat on the KTM I can come in and hose myself off.  :lol

Thanks for the removal firm links. Filled out a detailed form last night for a quote. Foc... it takes ages to work through what you have collected over 50 years.  :eek
