Newbie jumping brands...ish

Hi,

Just in the process of sorting out ownership of an early Fazer 600; looking forward to it, although getting the shakes from entering a stage of my biking life where I won't own a Kawasaki  :eek Sad  (have owned an fzr250 3ln, briefly)

Anyhoo, talking about Kawasaki, has any one put the front end from a ZX6R F, or even ZZR600 E, onto a Fazer?

Same diameter fork stanchions, slightly different lengths - the Kwaks being longer, but can always have the tops protruding.

The 6r has fully adjustable forks, so lowers needed, not sure about wheels, but the zzr only has preload so may be possible to fit them in the Fazer lowers.

What Snapper said!!  :lol

Any particular reason why you want a ZZR or ZXR front end? I could see the advantages if they were upside down forks, but as standards, where's the improvement?

Are the Fazer 600 forks adjustable?

The the later 600s, the forks have preload adjustment.  Smile

Cool, the one I've lined up is a 99. The zzr stanchions would give me adjustable rebound and preload, though I do have the 6r stanchions that I was going to fit to the ER6 I had.

Just normal, usd didn't come in till the pointy 636, so should look standard fit

Hmm, interesting. I plan to eventually fit USDs to my project bike, so the more options the better! Smile

Cheers :-)

FYI, here is a link to work being done on an ER6, same fork dimensions

The zx6r F1 - F3 has the forks wide apart so can't use the lowers on the er using standard yokes. Will double check the fazer spacing one I pick mine up.
