Does anyone have any experience with the pipercross air filters? Better than stock or worse? Service time coming up so just considering options

Much better than stock. Mine has been in the bike for about 50,000 miles and it is good for lots more. Easy to clean and you don't have to do that too often. Dyno technicians rate them, according to a mate who's bike spends more time on a dyno than the road.

Yeah mines well over due a new filter.
I think I've bought a couple of the Yamaha ones, but I'm looking at the price of the pipercross ones - about 35 quid - well why would I put another Yamaha one in. Me old bike has the Ivan's slip on kit, and I'm thinking you won't get any-more (much) air through the filter without modifying the air box? Loathed to buy another Yamaha one.

Bought my 600 with a pipercross filter already fitted so no comparison to the stock, but I find my bike a little snatchy at the throttle. Nowt to do with the cables. Not sure if the extra airflow would do this as I've no idea if the carbs have been balanced since it was put in.
I know most say you don't need to balance them or change anything when you fit one, but wondered if it might been the problem. Anyway, other than that, it's still fresh and loverly after the 4000 miles I've put on it. ![]() Simon

My thinking is that in most cases filters such as K&N and pipercross don't make any difference as the air box can't flow any more air, unless that is that it is modified and then you may be able to get more air flow.
I'm just reluctant to buy another rip off Yamaha paper filter.

Quote:Just bought one from pipercross shop they are doing free delivery in Feb,even to the highlands where most companies charge us extra to deliver here. How did you manage that, they don't list a filter for the FZS1000 - not that I can see. But Moore Speed Racing lists it as Pipercross Oval MPX063. Which does come up on the pipercross web site but isn't listed against any motorcycle model. Free delivery excellent. I've heard some businesses Highlands complaining that often suppliers charge em extra for delivery of supplies, including those delivering via the Post Office! Ach just say yes in September ![]() Think I'll send pipercross an e-mail.
