Well I've done it !!!
#1
Hi All, I'm so sorry but I've gone and done it against wot all you nice people have advised me to and swapped my Fazer for a TDM 900 mainly because of the comfort thing. It is a 2005 model and I rode it home from Huddersfield on Saturday and it woz like an armchair with wheels :z . Lovely though and quite pokey for a twin and SWMBO loves it so think I made the right choice. Thanks to all who put posts up to try and help me out with the issues I had but this came at the right price and the Fazer was taken as a part-ex too so less hassle all round.  I will be staying on if thats ok with you all so thanks again for all yer help.

Nice one, I used to have the older TDM850 and loved it tho for some reason they're considered a bit of a Marmite bike.

Still, if it was 10kg lighter with 10 more ponies, I'd probably go back to big twins again too

If it works for you and the Mrs it was the right decision  Smile

I personally have always liked the TDM850 and have considered buying one on a few occasions. Probably still would if I could find a minter. I'm sure the TDM900 is even better.

Enjoy it.
Yamaha Fazer 'the only bike you'll ever need' maybe ???

Hi guys, thanks for your replies and yeah my head said "Do It " but my heart did'nt want the Fazer to go as it was mint and quick as f**k but at my age comfort outweighs the fun factor. My missus loves it (and the bike ) so good all round.

cheers fellas  Buck

Its like the fzs 600 is made to measure for me, its great how there is a right bike for every one. Boring cars I can get ito any and it will "fit" and be ok.
I don't do rain or threat there of. dry rider only with no shame.

loved my 04 TDM 900, top end was about 120 on runs up motorway to Scotland, partners loved the pillion.
and I could show up sportsbikes on the right roads,

If you get the on/off throttle effect at low revs do the airbox mod
If you pop over to Carpe TDM great bunch of guys and lots of info

Good shout fella,

Mine was a toss up between the the TDM or the mighty Tiger  Big Grin . Tiger won in the end mainly for the 25ltr tank and the triple. TDM is still a good bike and like said above, the big trailies are great for embarrassing sportsbikes on the twisties.

Still love my Fazer for rideouts and as a Friday early getaway bike from work - the gaps it gets through compared to the Tiger!

Good luck with it and be safe.

Remember - you don't stop riding because you get old.....you get old because you stop riding Big Grin
Those are my principles...if you don't like them I have others.
