Be careful with the autumn sunlight
#1
A biker near here was seriously injured a couple of days ago.

Apparently he was stopped at a junction waiting to turn right when he was rear-ended by a car, the driver of which didn't see him because there was low, blinding sunlight in their eyes.

So if you're in a similar situation or stopped at traffic lights etc, it might be worth stopping short of where you're planning to turn and keeping an eye on your mirrors for anything coming up behind, so you have an escape route or can sound your horn to warn them.

But where do you supose that you are going to escape to ? Strait on -- in front of trafic from the right.
Ok look in your mirrors to see a car that clearly is not going to stop behind you and so "escape" to your left, only to find out the reason they were not stopping behind you is because they were turning left and you have just "escaped " infront of them. And at a right turn you need to be on the line inorder to see left and right clearly.
I think the best option in that situ is to make sure that your break light is on and hopfully they will see that.
Im not saying it is not an issue and it is somthing to be aware of as we get a lot of low sun in this country
I don't do rain or threat there of. dry rider only with no shame.

That very much depends on the situation and the position you're in and I can't detail every example (well, I probably could, but...)

Sure, but if that hope doesn't pan out, at least having a Plan B would be a good thing.

Worst case scenario, you jump off the bike and out of the way of the tonne of metal that might be about to squish you...
