Finally replaced my Brake Pedal& adjusted it.
#1
Well ive been meaning to adjust my brake pedal for ages as it was too high up so i was riding with my foot out all the time & it was scuffing on the road.after my crash i bent the pedal so i got another one off ebay for £8.

What a foccin nightmare, the peg allen bolt did not want to move, eventually using my good knee as a lever, & a few beers for extra strength i managed to slowly edge it out.foccin thing was in with blue thread lock Sad .

So i pissed about for ages adjusting everything, forgot where the springs went to,eventually sorted them out, bolted everything back on & oh foc in my rage with the big bolt i'd snapped the wires off for the brake light sensor :'( , the small clips for the wire were trashed so i got some gold clips off one of my old indicators & bodged it back on but could i foc manage to feed them through the little rubber cap,it was fiddly enough without it adding to the drama, so thegood old insulation tape is on it instead.

Anyway i thought it would be a quick job which it wasnt but hey im one step closer to getting my bike back on the road plus my lever is now comfortably nice & low, i never use my back brake much anyway. 8) [smg id=1171 type=preview align=center caption="image"]

FOC ME NOGGY!!!

2 out of 3 pictures the right way up... you should take all your pictures after a few beers  :b

More to the point, bikes looking good, what's left to do apart from getting the wiring at the front sorted?

It wouldn't be fun if it was easy, I just wish it wasn't this much fun.

He he chris that cracked me up! Smile , aye workin on the bike in the garden, listen to tunies & drinkin some tinnies is for winners!!!!,still had to do up all the bolts today though as i musta been too pissed up & forgot to do them,im just waiting on my bar end plugs & mirrors arriving oh & my i dicators then its off to the garage to get all the lighting electrics sorted out.

Getting close man!...still probably gonna foc about with bits n bobs for example i might get some of the black bar risers to replace my silverones, just styling though.

I cant get that focced crash bung off, it's just spinning around so ill prob spray over the chewed up bit so its not so noticeable.

Wouldn't it be easier to just spray the risers you have? would save having to buy new ones  Smile

A bit of sand paper or a small, not too harsh, file might help you to tidy up/round off the chewed up part of the crash bung so it doesn't look quite so bad then a quick spray would as you say make it less noticeable.

Ye good call i might give a quick blast of paint on the risers & see how they look, ive got a little bit of black spray paint left so can do them & the bung at the same time.

My crankcase cover ive just sanded it down & I suppose it needs a spray too but iquite like the alu look soill maybe buff off some more of the paint.

It's been quite an enjoyable 2 weeks off to be fair, i couldnt go to the gym with my broken finger & ligament so ive just chilled out every day drinking coffee & doing bike stuff, very therapeutic.

Noggy make sure that the brake switch is working 100%. You could easily get re-ended if it's a bit dodgy.

Cool, I like the polished engine cover look, go for it  Smile if it ever starts to look tarnished and you can't be bothered to polish it then you can paint it again  Big Grin

There is definatly something very enjoyable about working on the bike isn't there. Can be a nightmare when it gets expensive or you can't find a problem or things break or don't go to plan but it's all part of that rush you get at the end when you've overcome the problems and put your own stamp on the bike.

Well noted dude,

Ill keep an eye on it, so far so good though & even disconnected, the front brake was still lighting up & its pretty much what i use.

Cheers
