Sorry to hear about your incident at the weekend, the same happened to me although there was enough room to go off road and stay on.

This was on Gumtree 3 days ago

Cheers bud. I contacted the guy a few days ago and the first thing he said was that he won't budge on price and to be honest didn't like his tone. The bike also has a rattling exup valve, but he said that it was fine.. It's also had 6 owners and has only apparently done 23'000 miles. I have one we are going to possibly look at over the weekend.. Will keep you informed Smile

HI

If you are still looking, I am from the north east, and have a Fazer that I am about to sale
It’s a 54Reg, ohlins rear shock, front re-valve and sprung, gel seat, ivans full Monty, aftermarket exhaust and original, scottoiler, data tool 3 alarm immobilizer, I also have a givi rack and panniers that could be part of the deal if required?
Its done 33000miles galaxy blue

Looked at a bike in the borders. It was pretty tatty, had a rattling exhaust and the compression adjusters were seized on the fork legs, the exup valve cover wouldn't come off, so couldn't check the exup valve. Not good as it was a 3hr round trip Sad The guy had advertised it as good condition, f.s.h and the only fault was engine paint flaking..

I've been looking for  Gen 1 "up north" aswell. Loads of tat out there TBH. You can however normally tell by the buyer, their tone and the info they give. I knocked back the opportunity to buy 2 great looking bikes becaue the sellers were muppets.
I tend to only buy from folk I like/trust and in 20 years I have only had 2 "lemons".
