Got pictures from the death of my last fazer a few months ago... Thankfully, everyone was ok and I have a new one now - a year younger with a few thousand miles less on the clock.

Could have been so much worse!

ouch!!!

glad you be ok!!!

I take it the dent in the windscreen was your helmet?

@Lazarus... yeah, that was the helmet... HJC CS-R1.. not a scratch on it... perfect to use again Tongue  ...or keep on a shelf and replace with the exact same again!  Very glad I'm ok too... was only a few nches from big trouble..

Jeez, was the Corsa doing a U-turn? You are so lucky my friend,a little bit either way and it could have been so much worse, as you probably know?

All the best,    Mickey

Nurses? £16.50 with wine.................... no wonder you swerved into some dozy bint doing a u-turn.
I used to not give a foc, then I discovered Red Bull and now I don't give a flying foc !!!

Haha... said "dozy bint" is actually a friend of mine.  She was swinging out to do a u-turn and didn't see me coming in her wing mirrors.

Erm... Long and short.. just set out.  has only been on the road for 200-300 yards.. only 100 on that particular street.  Was only doing 20ish and was in 2nd.  Skid marks were less than 2 metres long.  did a dead stop into the drivers door... hurt like a sunofabitch!

3 days in Bradford hospital - the staff are incredible there!  they really care for you Smile

Got 1625 for the fizzer and the damage claim is ongoing.

Took a week of work and am now slightly lop-sided with my left shoulder about an inch lower than the right.  Also small self-healing puncture in lung.  12 weeks physio (top bloke).  Got Andrew Campbell and Hywel Evans of Bikelawyer handling it... Can't recommend them enough - they're a fantastic pair of lads to work wwith and REALLY care.

Driver got off with an awareness course because i didnt prosecute... Police said it was an illegal u-turn and dangerous driving, but its very much lesson learned and punishing her criminally wouldn't have done anything other than hurt her more financially and emotionally... and like I said, we're friends... s**t happens sometimes and you can bet your ass it wont happen again.

Funnily enough.. the replacement fazer is the one I am referring to in my other thread bitching about the RAC!

...Who needs helmets...? ;P

If police say it was dangerous and illegal, and you were hurt enough to be hospitalised, don`t they automatically prosecute?
Its good that you can forgive your friend but the consequences could have been a lot worse.

Thats a 20 mph shunt. Imagine what a faster shunt would look like (both you and the bike), so why do twonks ride faster through town?

Unbelievable, makes you think about just going to the shops without the gear. A friend in Greece never wears a helmet on his CBR 6,I'll send him a link to these pictures.

20mph?!

Yup.. 20.

Problem was it was a very sudden dead stop, so there wasnt much decelleration going on.  Police said the skid mark from my tyres was less than the length of a car

This makes the impact was somewhat different to a 40 down to 20 and still slowing type impact.

skidmark on the road was probably shorter than the one in yer pants!!  :lol :lol
