performance?
#1

does anyone know of any trustworthy performance figures for our bikes? i know mr. yamaha claimed 142 crank bhp for the gen 1 that actually comes in at around 128 wheel brake, but what about 0-60, standing quarter and top speeds? i seem to recall bike magazine listing the gen 1 at 160mph in the bike guide at the back when it was current but bruntingthorpe testing it at 151...

i'm far more interested in standard bike measurements than ivanated or sprocket modded bikes, much more of a useful guide, although modded figures would be interesting too.
is it clean enough?

I'm pretty sure the MCN review on their website has some of the info you're after.
not sure how accurate it'll be though Smile

Hope that helps

think i read somewhere the fazer gen 1 dose 0-60 mph in 3.6 sec which in theory will beat the old r1 of the line which apparently dose it in 3.11 sec......

dont quote me on that, im not gunna get into any arguments. im only going by what ive read.

These were the Bike mag back-to-back test figures during the Gen II launch comparison test.

The Gen 1 on test was in decent condition, about 10k miles on the clock.  Braking was compromised by the mis-matched tyre - an original (shagged) MEZ4 on the front, new 021 on the rear.

I took mine up to Santa Pod a few years ago and my best run was 11.3 @ 124 in the quarter mile. I was trying to beat my ZX9R that I'd had the previous year which ran a 11.2. Didn't quite manage it.

That was BI (before Ivanising) hence a standard machine. I think the worst I ran was an 11.6 but most runs were 11.4 @ 123. Very consistent performer. If memory serves, it was 6 secs ish @100 for the 1/8th mile, so 0-100 in 6.
