I have always found the reach to the clutch lever on my gen 1 a bit of a stretch. Has anyone fitted one from another bike that is span adjustable?
I know that I can buy a cheap set off ebay from china but I am reluctant to do that as I want the levers to look original and I have always found that oem levers seem to be more comfortable.
a zx-9r c1/c2 lever is supposed to fit and is adjustable but i have not verified this for myself, i bought a pair of aftermarket clicky jobs and have found them to be great.
is it clean enough?
Doesn't the clutch interlock connector have to be persuaded to fit?
Also, IIRC, don't the levers from the ZX6 of the same years work, too?
"clutch interlock connector have to be persuaded to fit"
nope not on any the ones ive done just plug in
yep but there's no persuasion required just un plug and replug
ps did ya get me pm question on ivan's needle got asked the question thats all (thought i know just the man lol)
I was similarly suspicious of cheap Chinese ebay levers but took the plunge and bought a pair for about £38 delivered and they are excellent quality - very happy with them.

Had my cheap chinky levers for about 18 months now. They fitted well and have worked well with no real down sides. I paid 26 quid the pair at the time inc delivery.
The one slight downside is the colouring dose fade affter a while and is quite noticeable.
I went black and I have seen red ones and gold ones with the same fade. I don't know how well silver would last but I imagine its better.
But as above sometimes you want an update with a more OE look and the zx gives that.
Zx9 clutch switch is 3 pin, fazer 2 pin.Mods required in my case. Plug on Yam loom completly different to Kwak socket on clutch lever. Just my obsevations.

I guess this proves that there must be more than the one manufacturer! I paid a bit more but have not suffered any fade - still look as good as the day they arrived - about 16 months ago

The zx9 clutch lever and perch arrived this morning ,Tuesday, quicker than I expected so as I was not on shift today I decided to fit it.
30 mins later all fitted and working and that included having to remove the handlebar grip on the clutch side to remove the original fazer perch. The connector on the fazer is two pin and the zx9 three pin but it was just plug and play.
Sidestand down, put in gear and fazer stalls as it should.
No more stretch to the clutch lever now and looks very neat and was a very cheap mod.
Thanks again for the info.
