Race Tech Fork Springs

I've bought some Race Tech fork springs for my 2009 FZ6 S2 and am aware that the set comes with a length of spacer that needs cutting to size. I'm told that the Race Tech springs are shorter than the standard springs although as I've not disassembled the forks I can't confirm this. 

Is anyone aware of the process of ensuring the correct spacer size is obtained? 

In addition the fork oil is to be replaced. Do I use the specified 467ml of oil?

All advice and guidance is gratefully received.

There's plenty of videos online showing how to set the rider sag, so when I replaced the OEM fork springs with the Hyperpro ones, I needed to adjust the preload as the spacers are set up for an "average" rider who's probably a bit heavier than me!

I got some PVC tubing and cut it to be shorter than the metal spacers, then stacked penny washers on top to get the same length.

I got on the bike and bounced the forks up and down a few times to get it settled, then got a friend to measure the sag whilst I balanced against a wall, after that, I took a washer out and repeated the process until I found the correct length for my weight.

Once I'd got that, I used a pipe cutter to shorten the spacers and it was sorted.

Off hand I forget how I found the correct fork oil height, but, again, I'm sure there's an answer online somewhere!
