How much oil in the oil cooler please?
#1
My next task is to spray the front of the engine with engine paint.

I recently changed oil and filter.  Does anyone know, if I take off the oil cooler to clean and spray around it, how much oil I will lose?  Will I need to drain it first or will it just be what's in the cooler, in which case I can top up afterwards?

Thanks.

You will lose what in the lines and cooler, which isn't that much.  You should be able to catch most of it by undoing the cooler bolt first and letting it drain into a bowl or something.  You can then either put it back in after if it's not contaminated by grit etc from the cooler housing or just top up with fresh in the normal way.  The latter is what I would recommend  Wink Smile
