Carb issue
#1
Hey guys and gals,

I'm having a slight issue with my carbs. The bike has been stood for a while and I dropped the carbs out to do a cable repkreplace. I noticed when I fitted everything and popped them back the throttle won't turn. I have managed to figure out that it's the far left carb (if you are sat on the bike) seems to be stuck solid as I can see the others trying to open. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this to happen?

Also on another note .The renthal 758 bars, are they worth the money and how bright is the anodised yellow?

Cheers

Mat

Did the throttle work before you changed the cable?
Sounds like the carbs will need stripping and cleaning.

Sounds to me like you may have bent something when you took them out or a part of the linkage has twisted and is binding on itself.

The throttle didn't move before had so I assumed one of the cables hah seized up.
How easy is it to have twisted the linkage as all the banks look to be aligned?

If it was already like it before you removed the carbs then it is not something you have done. I don't think you can twist the linkages whilst the carbs are fitted to the bike. Can something have moved and is stopping the linages moving? Did the work OK off the bike?

This could be down to cable tension , try loosening them off a tad one at a time , also worth checking the routing of the cables especially around the headstock.....
One, is never going to be enough.....

did you not check it moved ok when you had the carbs off with no cables?
if not i think you may have to take them off again

Tbf I didn't check them while they were off the bike. I can see 3 of the 4 banks trying to open. It's just the one that seems to be jammed solid. I'm going to take them off again and have a look .

I removed the carbs and still the same carb is stuck shut
.Given it to a garage to see if they can free it off now.
