camera advice needed
#1
My son wants a compact camera he can go snorkeling with (max depth 2-3m) or wont ruin it if it gets wet.

There are so many confusing reviews (well for an old man like me), anyone got any experience or advice?

It needs to be able to take good photos on dry land (scenery and party snaps) and have WIFI or Bluetooth for easy transfer of pictures.

Or a good compact that he can get a waterproof case for.

Budget is up to £300

What they want and what they get are always different....

I'd save some money for bike farkle or gear, buy him this and tell him to be grateful  :lol

Get nice Canon compact camera like:

£125 Canon IXUS 275 HS

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Canon-IXUS-Comp...LPH+350+HS

£110 Canon PowerShot SX610 HS

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Canon-SX610-Pow...t+SX610+HS

£220 Canon PowerShot SX620 HS

http://www.jessops.com/online.store/prod.../Show.html

and a £25 underwater case:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/DiCaPac-WP-570-...B003UQPANI

Honestly 20 megapixel Canon PowerShot SX610 HS will be more than enough for the purpose. Its cheap now beacuse there is a new 620 model anounced. Means you save £100. Buy Canon PowerShot SX610 HS for £110 + £25 = £135

You have £170 left for gear and beer. Problem solved  Smile

He is a bit old at 23 for that Frosties  :rollin  and I promised him a compact type camera for his graduation. He has a decent DSLR he shares with my daughter but wanted a decent all round happy snapper.

Was looking at Olympus, Nikon, panasonic lumix etc.

Thanks for the ideas  Smile
