FZS1 CHATTER AT LOW REVS??????????
#1
Hi Guys,
My 2005 FZS1 is giving me gip..........

Starts up perfectly but when i'm pulling away or low revs pull-off the bike chatters/splaters and doesn't pick up till about 2-3k.

Runs well in any other gear and no probs with top end, only when in the low revs or pulling away from a slow drive off.

Any ideas.....................

Are you USA mr sox???

US call them FZ1 whereby we called it the FZS1000......then we called the later Gen 2 fazer thou the FZ1.....yet it was stickered as "fazer" in the UK & FZ1 in the US.

So UK had the FZS1000 (carbed)  followed by the FZ1N (naked) or the FZ1S (faired) (fuel i jected models)

Oh foc ive confused myself :lol

Far as i know for UK anyway the Gen2 FZ1 didnt come until 2006 onwards.

Anyway.....is yours the one with carbs or fuel injection???

Easiest way to go fast........don't buy a blue bike

If it's a carb'ed bike, has it been stood for a while?  Symptoms as described suggest blocked or partially blocked pilot jets and passageways.  You might get lucky and clear this with fuel cleaner additive such as Seafoam.

Other possibles include weak sparks, either due to a dirty ignition switch (flush with WD-40) or poor contact between plug wires and caps.  Fix this by unscrewing the plug caps, trimming 1/2" off the wire and refitting.

Hi Falcon,

It has been standing a while over the winter, so this could be the issue. It's a carb.
I'll try this and see if it works.

If I can't unblock the pilot jets would I need to take the carbs out to clean??

By the way I'm a London boy.  Wink Wink

Cheers
