Kangaroo petrol- help
#1
Hi folks, I've been out on the bike the past two nights and noticed a bit of a worrying change in how the bike used to run.

I'd better start by saying its a 2007 model, 5500 miles on the clock with no mods.

Basically, if I am holding the revs around the 3k rpm mark in 2nd or 3rd gear, the revs begin to bounce up and down by 500 rmp and the bike naturally begins to kangaroo. These symptoms disappear if I speed up, slow down or change gear. Almost as though it was misfiring slightly.

I also noticed when I was touring Scotland last week that occasionally I would accelerate hard and then brake hard, however when I dipped the clutch to change gear the revs would remain at whatever they were sitting at before I pulled the clutch. If I continued to hold the clutch in, the revs would stay like that for about 5 seconds before dropping back down to idle speed.

I know some owners had issues with the TPS, could this be the issue?

Sounds like a TPS issue, bit not 100%.

Would probably be my first check if no one has an alternative option.

Can you fit an OBD cable and check the TPS.

I've done it before with a bluetooth dongle and Torque app on the phone, but too new to the Faz to know if this works.

Isn't 3k rpm too low in the rev range for the fazer?
