I thought that the walkie talkie option used the same 1 to 8 channels as CBs, is that correct

I used to have a set up on my pushbike back in the early eighties.  Do people still go on them.

Slim, PMR use a different set of channels to CB radio and no licence is needed either (unlike CB)

Jesus, what memories, I had a midland AM CB in my Datsun!!!!

and then as usual the UK foocced it up and made ours FM that was shite

Ah yes. They removed the licence requirement in 2006.
