I would expect a lot of tuning first and maybe a larger engine? 900cc triple doesn't feel like its going to produce enough power (in its current form its based on the new MT-09) to warrant the "R3" badge

I'd also love to see a smaller capacity Sports bike similar to the R6 but a twin or triple.  Triumph have proven it'll sell.

R3 for three cylinders....bit confusing for us old foccers as R1=1000cc and R6 = 600cc  :o

Then again, going by the R6 and even worse, R125, I think R3 rolls off the tongue better than R9.
