Insurance question
#1
I binned my Fazer just over a week ago now (as you know from my post earlier this week.  It's going to be a "my fault" claim because I went in the back of the car.

Question, when I renew my CAR insurance do I have to mention the bike accident?  Will this bike accident affect my car no claims?

Cheers

Yes, you have to declare it. Doesn't affect your car no claims tho...  (I believe!)

Doesn't affect no claims on the car, but as an accident is declared premium will increase slightly!
Some say...

No claims are earned on a per policy basis - not per person. Therefore, having two vehicles means two policies (traditionally at least - lets not bring multi-car / multi-bike stuff in). Claiming on one policy will not affect the no claims of any other separate policy you hold Smile

However, you still need to inform all of your insurers about any accidents / claims on any policy you hold

when I claimed on my bike insurance my car insurance went up about £10. because you become a higher risk? this can happen if you protect your NCB you might pay more because you become a higher risk?

As punkstig said it will increase premium but not affect no claims. I asked when i insured the bike since I have guaranteed no claims regardless of how many accidents. goes to show  protected or guaranteed no claims isn't really worthwhile. they'll sting you anyway :rolleyes
