As per title really fellas,
Have a Caberg V2R Chrono which to be honest is shite :- too noisy and the visor leaks from the top. Will replace soon but in the meantime I need to find a way to remove the anti fog coating. This is a relatively new visor and bought to replace a badly scratched (outside) one.
The pin lock never worked so that soon got binned (had a Caberg Ego before with same pinlock/leak issues....long story, back to Caberg factory etc with no joy).
After the rain running down the inside, I had no option but to wipe clear the marks left behind. This has made it worse and looks like someone has hacked one up and spread it over the inside surface. Lost count of the number of times I've tried to clean it with a V Wipe spong & Fairy liquid - just can't shift it.
Any ideas how to clean it off so I can fit a fog city sticky insert like I've had before. Any advice much appreciated fellas :thumbup

a small amount of mequiar's plastx polish will bring back to a clear surface.
I found the fog city stick in inserts were great until one of the edges got a small amount of water on it and the seal was compromised and made it worse then just normal fogging up.
I'll never use anything but a pinlock on my shoei these days as it's been the most amazing thing, but I understand you've tried a pinlock and yours failed.
Money can be an issue but sounds like your lid is pretty useless, can you really put a price on the safety a helmet provides? Might be worth going for a well made shoei - some of their range aren't too expensive and are great quality. Worth a thought.

It wouldn't be fun if it was easy, I just wish it wasn't this much fun.
Thanks for that Chris, will get some asap.
I paid about £190 for the Caberg last November and thought it was a good buy with a sun visor and 5 star rating. Comfy but noisy and I always wear ear plugs. Think Caberg have a lot of work to do. Looking at a Schuberth next time but need a lid with sun visor, Shark S900C looking good also.
You're right about the fog city inserts - do a good job until they start to unstick, but they tend to last me about a year on all previous helmets so not bad value to me.
Lost count of how many times I refitted and reset the pinlock insert. Would check it didn't steam up then get about 2 miles down the road before it would let go and fog up. Put it down to visor flexing in the end which maybe associated with helmet cost.
Have nothing against Pinlock, it's just the Caberg was my first lid with the facility so have put it down to a Caberg issue - 2 different
lids from them, both with the same issues.
Cheers for the "tie me over" solution, much appreciated.

these are reportedly much much better ! I haven't had the money to but one yet tho
Cheers snapper, ive gotta fess up i dont really know what a pin lock is, does it mean it ratchets so you can have it open a little without it flipping up the vizor?,if so then i can do that, if not & if theres an improvement then id be up for it because the anti fog flaking is worse than fog itself.

This looks like a winner all round. Out of curiosity noggy, which Schuberth do you have, does it leak at the visor...how do you rate it?

It doesnt leak mate, it is quiet which is nice & i can get away with not wearing ear plugs.
I dunno, if im honest I wish id gone for something a bit cheaper as i wouldnt say it's as good as the money it costs.
Mine is the older S 1.
I almost binned it because after 50 miles theres a pressure point right on my temple, it gets unbearable & i have to grab the chin piece & wiggle it to get some relief.ive pressed down the styrene as much as i can at that point &it is better but still hurts.i think im maybe not designed for Schuberth.
