sold him a back rest with mini rack attached.
it wouldn't fit his bike without removing the grab rail.so I said OK I'll send you a replacement.and now he's complaining of a tear in his back rest pad to which he received undamaged
he used it for his hols with his girl friend and now he says it is ripped claiming that I should replace it.
I said I'm not possible for damage how ever caused by you.
also I said that these b/rest etc are sold as cheap as possible and the pad is for you back to rest on and not for you to pull or what ever.
these are cheap pads source from Vietnam and this how I can keep my price so low.
you only have to look at custom bikes price's these sell for a lot more than £130 and this inc shipping costing £37.20.
my profit margin is low and I have to pay full price like every one else have to.
so pad is cheap, I can send you one together with the replacement rack at your cost .
if you want to do that I'll only charge what it cost me and that is £8.97.
and this was his reply...
[glow=red,2,300]So you're telling me that you use a cheap *** pad made by a 6 year old in Vietnam, the tear is perfectly along the sharp metal pad, but it is my hand that made a percision cut in the material on the same line as the metal plate? Are you F'ing kidding me??!! It's a cheap *** pad. I got one of the defective ones, and you need to replace it.[/glow]
bare in mind he got it in good condition and used it during his hols for a week got home and some how a tear has appeared.
I would like to reply in a civil manner but I'm not to sure how to reply in this instance.
so any of you guys has a gift of being eloquent with words then please go a head.

Check out how long he has to file a dispute, and if it's outside that period tell him to go fuck himself.

Hi John,
If you are running a business, replace it - no question. Customer service is everything in business. I think the guy probably is a dick, but you get them sometimes. I had a woman buy a pair of kevlar jeans from me last year. She wore them to the TT for 2 weeks and absolutely destroyed them. Then contacted me upon her return to say that she was not happy with them for various reasons. I asked her to return them for inspection. They were reeking of piss, they must have been too long because the bottom of them was all torn and muddy and she had a pair of pliers in at them to rip off the button fastener. So I am thinking - what a c**t, but she goes to the TT and so do many of my other "potential" customers. I refunded her in full and returned the jeans as a good will gesture (no good to me, are they). Don't get me wrong, I was not delighted, but that's business sometimes and if you want to keep at it you have to realise the customer is everything
Not quite sure what to do with my early mid-life crisis. Ideas on a post card to P.O.BOX 150...
thanks for the reply inc to those who said tell him to uckoff :rolleyes
1st off it was a private sale from a forum member. he had the rack for over 2 months,he then say it does not fit without removing the grab rail.
this was last week after he came back off hols and no mention of the tear till yesterday.
any way I've decided I will not make any more just do classic bikes rails/racks.
according to paypal a buyer has 45 days in which to file a complaint and now it is over 70 days so I don't think he can do any thing about it.

You must be successful to be able to afford to do that. I'm of the opinion that unless there is something defective with the manufacturing they can stuff off. No point in having customers who literally take the pis#. Don't want them, don't need their business. You're a nicer bloke than I. I'd also check everything (seams, buttons etc) before it goes out the door so I know it's sound.
Opinions are like A**holes, Everyone has one. Some people seem to have more than one though which is a bit odd.
Oh the world of commerce and selling to the public - tell me about it :lol
Working in a shop - "This job would be great if it wasn't for the bloody customers...."!! :lol
the guys an absolute prick.
its an NC700x backrest with a small rack.
it was designed to fit on with the grab rails.
the trouble started over a bloody back rest pad.
I said that I would replace the rack but not the pad.
he received every thing in good nick no damage but the rack will not fit with the grab rail.
then a week later he ask me to replace the pad in which he damage and I said I cannot and will not but will send him a rack.
then he started to spout off and I said any more of the spouting off I will not post the rack.
so he put it all on the forum blaming me for all the troubles, he's a frigging prick.
what business would replace goods after he had use it and damage the pad after 2 months.
usually you as a buyer has 30 days grace but not 70 frigging days, however I would of replace the rack till his rants.
as a matter of fact I don't run a shop but work from in my home( garage),the chroming and powder coat is sourced from other business's as well as nut 'n' bolts etc.any way he can kiss my ass.
