Strange text about Fazer
#1
So,

As some of you know, I bought my fazer a few weeks ago from a nice fellow who had owned the bike for 6 years. I thought nothing more of it until I got a text from him today asking how I was getting on with it.

I replied that aside from just servicing the bike, it has been great, and that I plan to keep it for a good while, and couldn't see me getting rid anytime soon.

He then asked me, to let him know as soon as I decide to sell it, and he'll buy it back?!?

I guess he must regret the sale, even though he had an SV1000 on the drive when I took it, so think on before you sell your wee fazers guys, you will regret it :lol

Not a strange text at all, just that he's bought himself a new bike, sold his Fazer, ridden the new one for a while and realised that it isn't as good as he thought it would be.  I did exactly the same thing about 40 years ago.  My first road bike was a 250 Ducati but as soon as I passed my test, I had to get something bigger (as if you still rode a 250 nobody believed you'd passed your test, they thought you'd just ditched your L plates).  I got myself a Triumph T100SS.  For the first couple of days it was kid with a new toy time then I realised it may have been marginally faster than the Duke but it didn't handle or stop anything like as well and was, to be quite honest, boring to ride.  I never did get the 450 Duke that I should have gone for instead.....

Yeah, I think he may well regret the sale. I feel bad for the guy, he was a nice chap and seemed to know his stuff. Hopefully he finds himself another one in nice condition.

Perhaps I should text him and point him the way of the sales section on here...

When I bought mine 2 years ago I planned to use it as a learning tool for a year and step up to an FZ1. Well, having covered tousands of joyous miles on the steed, I now see that I will never part with him. Instead I plan to expand my garage with something more focused for those VERY spirited rides (no that the Faz can't handle it Smile
I am taking him to the ring in 6 weeks and can't wait to see how he handles 3000 miles and getting chucked round the green hell, all in the space of 10 days. There are not many 13 year old bikes I would even consider doing this with.
Not quite sure what to do with my early mid-life crisis. Ideas on a post card to P.O.BOX 150...

I recently sold my blackbird after almost 3 years of ownership and missing it something terrible. The fazer is a great bike and to be honest it makes much more sense for me as a commuter which was my original intention for the purchase, but the garage is just not the same without the old girl.  Ah well maybe when I get a few bob together I can pick one up again and have two bikes in the stable!

I miss my FZS600, would have it back in a heartbeat.  Don't think it is any better then the Stret Triple I have now, it was just such a good bike and I miss it.
