Another Question - this time on crash protection?
#1
Hi guys,

Got another question for you all - would anyone be interested in buying crash protection off an aquantance I know that can manufacture it? I know him through the ZX9R forum I was on, where he manufactured fairing sliders (big ones like R&G make), bar ends, swingarm and fork protectors and bobbin type ones as well, which were all extremely well regarded by the members of the forum, a great deal of whom had also had cause to test them, with excellent results! (well, as excellent as a crash can be!)

I think initially they would be offered for the FZS 600 (i'm assuming all years, as they're pretty much the same bike!) as it's the bike I've got so I could supply measurements for him, but his range could potentially be extended out to cover the other FZS and FZ models if people lived nearby so could pop round for a measure up, or could supply the photos and measurements that he would require in order to make them?

Prices were very reasonable, I think the main ones for the Ninjas were about £50, but they were also considerably more complex than  would be required on our bikes (as they had to have a modified coolant bottle supplied, which if you returned your original was also good for a £10 cashback), and the fork, swingarm and bar ends were about £20 each I believe. All top quality stuff as well!

Website looks good as do the crash bungs and price - fair play!

Link to forum is looking for a login so can't access that.

I'd certainly consider bar ends and bungs for the front fork and rear swing arm.
Opinions are like A**holes, Everyone has one.  Some people seem to have more than one though which is a bit odd.

I'd consider the full set, Simon!  :lol

To be fair, I could probably do with some myself...  :rolleyes

I note the website says
"We will not make crash bungs that bolt to a bracket to avoid bodywork modification or ones that utilise a fairing bracket as a point to fix as this vastly reduces the ability and strength of the protection to do it’s job."
but would he consider making some copies of the Yamaha official ones, which do fit to a bracket through the hole in the bellypan?
If so I'm definitely interested.
