Superb, I widh I could have been there to see it. The Lancaster/Spitfire/Hurricane fly-by always makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.!

What fantastic photos-only found out about the Derwent fly past when I saw it on Midlands Today. Good selection of bikes there ,old & new.
There are certain engines that get the goosebumps going-some bikes & the wonderful Rolls Royce Merlin on full power :lol No ridiculous silencers-just 12 stub exhausts spitting out flames & smoke! Thanks again for posting-almost as good as being there! :lol :lol
Normally if I saw a couple of jet fighter's fly by I'd be amazed but after the Lancaster and spitfire the tornados paled into insignificance.
The sound was amazing and it made the bridge we were standing on rumble.

GOOD pictures but it's a shame that there is no sound as it's one of the few things that sounds better than a bike.

I missed most of it anyway as I was too busy taking pictures :rollin
3 passes and it was over but it was worth the wait. ![]() My Mrs didn't agree with that as she lost the plot a bit after we had been waiting an hour and a half as I wanted to claim a good spot which paid off in the end. When they do it again I'll climb one of the peaks as a lot of people did, it must have been extra cool to be at the same level as the aircraft

It must have been terrific to be there. Thanks for posting the pics.
The Devil made me do it.

My Summer trip this year . Scampton then on to Guy Gibsons grave and crash site in Holland then to the Mohne and Eder dams, Colditz, Stalag Luft 3, ( Great Escape ) Auschwitz .Then home via Czech rep Bavaria and the Vosges. Least I can do to pay respect is to follow in the footsteps/flightpaths of heroes

Thanks for the link, but it's because I live in Shetland that I've not seen it yet and unfortunately none of them come this far north and I, also unfortunately, won't be getting off this rock for quite some time. Unless I win the lottery... :\

Hi guys,
I thought I'd add my bit, We went to the 50th anniversary fly past at the Lady bower dam in 1993 and what a spectacle that was , as been said the sound is out of this world the Lancaster a Spitfire , Mosquito , Tornado's and a C 130 Hercules did the fly past , incredible . Also if you happen to pass this place http://www.lincsaviation.co.uk at East Kirkby, I highly recommend a visit ,just check opening times on their web page though, NX 611 on view and also some aviation displays to look at. Promise I'm not connected with them at all , but just a good place to go. Regards Rivett
