Hi,
I’m trying to work out how much extra power in Watts I have available for electrical accessories on my Mk2 02-03 FZS600 running dipped headlights.
I got these figures from the owners manual that standard output is 14V,21A @ 5,000r/min and the standard battery is 12V, 10Ah.
I wouldn’t know how to total up the various things that use power during normal riding and don’t know the maths to get to my answer of how much Wattage I will have to spare.
Are there any takers out there for this question?

If there's no solution then its not a problem.
Typically you'll be drawing about 12 or 13 amps with lights on which includes the tail/instrument lights, fuel pump and sparks.
Intermittent loads like brake lights, indicators and horn might add around 10 amps to the load... pretty much the full output of the generator, but they are only temporary and the battery can cover the surge in demand: the average will probably be close to 13 amps.
How much extra load you can add depends on your riding habits, if you bimble around at 3000rpm you may not be able to add much... even heated grips might be too much. A more normal riding style and you'll probably be able to add 60 watts without any problems. If that isn't enough for whatever you have planned you can switch to LEDs for indicators, brake and tail lights to make more available.

Not sure how that compares to other bikes but 60w doesn't seem too great(?) But then again it was certainly never marketed as a tourer even with its big 22 litre tank.

Definitely not going to be big enough for the amp & subwoofer combo you had planned huh. Seriously though, you planning on trying to boil a kettle or summat ?
Opinions are like A**holes, Everyone has one. Some people seem to have more than one though which is a bit odd.
