Costa Coffee Moan
#1
Anybody else noticed , the costa coffee francise is spreading like wildfire,  They only seemed to be in motorway services , and were easily avoided now they are cropping up in Tescos and hospitals
I wrote to Tesco's recently, pointing out that I was surprised that an otherwise good value store should have these outlets , They replied that £2.80 for a standard coffee was competive with prices in the area.
Whilst at a Asda strore I got talking to lady with two kids she said that she had previously always  had a meal and hot drink whilst out shopping at Tescos , since Costa took over she had switched to Asda. Not sure I am out of touch with the real world but I vote with my feet and wallet , by going elsewhere!
Another moan is price of fuel at motorway services 10p a litre more that local prices here in Cornwall

Are you being serious?  Bloody expensive if you ask me, and why can't they ever do straight pricing.  I hate Tesco.

As for coffee shops in supermarkets, well frankly it's one of many areas that supermarkets should have never have been allowed to enter.  No end of towns now have boarded up high streets, the supermarkets been allowed to suck the life out of our towns.

It has crossed my mind that now people want to shop in supermarkets or online why should we expect shops in the town centre. Also is it a poor reflection on us if the best solution for giving us a social centre to a town?

Good Point VNA , the supermarkets  are killing the high street , but we are all guilty of wanting cheaper prices.

If you figure you're going to need to tank up on a long ride on a motorway, find out where you're likely to need to fill up, search for "XYZ services M5" (or whatever) then put the post code into http://petrolprices.com/ and it'll find the cheapest station within a radius you specify (eg 5 miles).

Often you'll find out that it's virtually just off the motorway and it'll save you a packet! Smile
