what about warm soapy water and nail brush ?
also after cleaning them what is a good way of treating them ?
cheers guys and girls .....ooh did that sound too much of a jimmy saville quote :evil :lol
shine on you crazy diamond
too bloody cold to wear leathers :eek
Your local dealer will probably stock leather cleaner by Nikwax - which is good stuff. Baby-wipes are also very good for cleaning sueface dirt from leathers.
I just wipe my leathers with a damp cloth then dry them with another cloth then put on a little of the chelsea dubbin leather food ( looks like neutral shoe polish) .
My leathers are old but this stuff seems to keep the suple and quite waterproof ( well as waterproof as leathers can be!) - that said I have to agree with the others - way to cold for leathers - get youself some big baggy textiles you can get some layers under!

I've not tried this so do it at your own risk but I read on t'interweb that
leaving chalk dust on grease stains will lift the grease out

You mean you've never bought a sofa from DFS or SCS or SOF? (ok I made the last one up)
I'm on my third sofa from these wonderful interest free 4 years credit giving places and each time they give you a leather care kit with your new sofa which I promptly put in the cupboard and forget about, until I remember I need to clean my leathers, then out it comes and works a treat.
Never cleaned a sofa in my life!
Forgot to add use hot water to melt the flakes.
It has lanolin in it, so good for leather
