Neutral light when clutch is DIS-engaged

Hello all.My name is Roy.I just bought a Fazer last week (first proper bike,4 years on a c90 doesn't count),I'm well pleased with it but the neutral light has started coming on when I pull the clutch in.Looking on the internet seems like it's a diode?Is this right? Any ideas?

sounds like the start lockout relay (box with the diodes in).

You washed it with a jet wash didnt you?  or left it out in the rain?

Its nothin to worry about they all do haha

As Knoxy says, they tend to do this when the switch gear gets wet. Mine had the habit of leaving the neutral light on even when I was in gear.

Eventually it'll dry out and work properly again.

Just bought an FZ6 after 30 years non biking, gave it a good wash on Sunday, took it for a spin, and had the same problem! Was panicking thinking I had bought a pile of shite, after an hours run, just got home, it cured itself, so was guessing it may have been something due to the wash.
Then searched on the internet, found this thread on, which assured me everthing was ok, which it is now, must get water in somewhere which shorts a switch.
