Clutch problems
#1
Well I'm sat on the side of the road waiting for the recovery wagon so thought id ask the question now while waiting.

My clutch is stuck on... Cable is all free and rod moves on top of clutch. Any ideas What could it be so I may have an idea before taking it apart tonight or tomorrow.

Thanks for your assistance

Actuating lever on top shouldn't move without a fair bit of effort.

My guess is the actuator mechanism inside the clutch is faulty somehow but can't say precisely without more info.

Good luck ... this shouldn't be too traumatic for your wallet.

Did it fail suddenly or were there any symptoms before you broke down? Sad

Was sudden. Happened between 2 roundabouts 400 yards apart fine on first one had to stall bike on second one.

Most likely Release mechanism/Pull rod. Good luck :rolleyes

Just to let you know ive had the clutch apart..........
And back together
and apart again........
Turns out that what I recon has happened is that the new (3 weeks old) clutch cable seems to have drastically stretched (in an extreamly short time  :rolleyes somehow).... which in turn allowed pull rod to rotate far enough that the pull leaver shaft disengaged.. therefor no clutch.

So now its back to bike shop to see what they are going to do about the cable.

Thanks for you help guys.

That will be the Hi Level clutch cable that is really cheap but lasts days then......  :lol

Ask me how I know.  :'(

Loads of posts about it here somewhere.

Buy a Yamaha one - no choice really.
