Bikes For Taller People
#1
After passing my DAS 10 years ago I got a Yam Diversion XJ900 which was ok as im tall, then had the Fazer 600 which to be honest towards the end I did suffer with leg cramps on longer journeys and currently have a Kwak ZZR 600.

Im looking to replace it later this year for something which is better for someone taller (I'm 6'3) suggestions please?
I would like a GSXR 1000 but I know that will end in trouble. What do tall Foccers ride?

sorry but it has to be the gen one thou !
boring answer but truthful
Im 6'2" and nearing the wrong end of 18st and never had problems , and this is the only bike I have ridden I can honestly say that

But its not just down to leg room its rider postion as well and the type of riding you do motorway a roads or back lane scratching ?

Loads really
Fazer 1000 or any 1000cc naked
Tiger or any adventure bike
zx12R or Busa
its only really 600cc and sports bikes that are tricky
Its just a ride

I've got this. Long legs... not a problem. With the 19" and 21" off road enduro wheels fitted I can just about get both toes on the ground, and you are in the wind when hammering on the open road.

Some say that he eats habanero chilli peppers dipped in oil of capsaicin for extra bite and that his pyjamas are made from Nomex. All we know is, he's called Ad the Bad

the 955i kitty worked realy well for me when i had hip problems, kept my legs nicely angled.
the gen 1 1000 with a jack up kit works a treat to
TDM 900 was ok but more so because i liked the twin feel Smile

you on about the bike or the car in the background?  Big Grin

Im a touch under 6'4" and find the fazer thou o.k - get knocked about by turbulance a fair bit, moved the gear & brake lever a tad. Hoping to get my seat re-shaped soon, want the rider part made up about in inch or so.

6'3" and had the Fazer thou since 2003 - good for leg room as my left knee used to kill me when I was on a 600 sports bike.

The modern sportsbikes are built for shortarses! The R1 is around knee height  :b

Only other bikes I would consider are the Multistrada or Triumph Tiger, BMW Gs is probably good but too bulky and ugly and
expensive for me.

I had some extra foam put in the seat of my FZS600. Better height for the legs.

Gen 1 thou, or an 800 Tiger XC, but then I would promote those two wouldn't I.

The CBF1000 is effectively the CBF600 with a bigger engine so I wouldnt recommend that based on the comment above. That said, it is quite roomy.
The Tiger or BMW would be the best for a tall person though,.
Another ex-Fazer rider that is a foccer again

That's the way to go. The tallest seat height bike in the world doesn't mean that the footpegs are the furthest away from your ass.

Or look into the bike mag reviews... anything they say that decks the pegs too easily ( Fazer 1000s etc ) will be okay-ish for you  Wink

Well being 6"3 and a LITTLE over 16 grams I'd have to recommend the Xjr it's a real mans steed
And ploughs the milage too.

Yeh, and the rest.

I think you gotta try the TDM.
The 850 you can pick up for approx £2k
The 900s £4.5k.
Very good bikes.
Maybee a bit fast for you, but you can pull 1 plug lead off. :rollin
