I've done the full set of warning lights too, but I'm considering changing the full beam light back though.  The new bulb is just too bright and distracting, at a time when you want to see the road better.

It is a bit glarish i agree but the green fuel light is ok. Provided uv not got full beam on its ok. I use an ultimate addons iphone case/clamp and when i indicate or watever and the light come on the case stops the glare.

Hi I would prefer to get the slightly dimmer blue bulbs so I can read the lcd so how do you know which brightness you will get bwhen you order them do you have an ebay number for the bulbs you got thanks Smile

any t5 286 1.2w will be ok. the brightness u will get will be the same but remember blue is harder to see than white so there always gonna be less bright. the stems that the led is built around is longer so less light permeates round the speedo display and as they r closer to the turn signal/main beam plastic covers they will glare.

Seeing as my bike is Red, and there aren't any pictures up yet; I'll order some LEDS in, and change mine to red. I'll post some pictures up when I'm done to see how it is!

Hey everyone, Just done this mod today with blue LED's as i've got a blue foxeye 600. Very easy, Looks great, and took me about 45 minutes as I spent half the time cleaning the fairing brackets and typically I had put all the bulbs in the wrong way around.. hahaha. Always hated the standard lights for the dials. I won't bother with a picture as you all know what it looks like  Smile

A huge thanks to dead eye for the very helpful pictures and descriptions on what to do. I removed the screen and have no idea why you wouldn't to do this mod as it makes access to the nuts so much easier. I also replaced the nuts and washers with stainless ones as they were a bit corroded. Was a good chance to get all the fairing brackets cleaned up too  Big Grin

It wouldn't be fun if it was easy, I just wish it wasn't this much fun.

Did the mod today all went fine went to use my bike and the rev counter has stoped working. The needle has gone right round to far to the bottom. Looks like the clocks have to come off again  Sad

I bought some SMDs but with the ones I got, each bulb had three sides and so the light spread more evenly across the dials. Bought white ones and they're much brighter.

something like this should do the trick. I put "T5 smd" into ebay and a few of them came up.

Is it just me, or is the life expectancy on these bulbs crap?

I changed mine to white single bulb ones, and all three died within a couple of months.

Changed to some 3-bulb ones, and one has already given up the ghost after 2 weeks.

I wouldn't mind so much if they were quicker to change.

Haven't had an issue with any dying on me but I'm rather thankful for how easy they are to change. On my old Mk2 Golf you had to disassemble the entire dashboard just to try and even get the clocks out. You would then spend the next 6 hours trying to reattach the tacho and speed sensors to the back of the clocks whilst attempting to get them to sit in the right bloody place...

Just sayin

May look good on a blue bike but I want some black ones to match my black bike !
Maybe I just fit the blue and wait a few days
I don't do rain or threat there of. dry rider only with no shame.

In a previous project I converted all dash lights on a Mazda MX5  and I had issues with leds blowing from the cheaper versions on ebay. After a bit or trial and error I have found the seller Goodwill sales supplies the best quality leds.
I have fitted red, blue, green and yellow in various cars over the years Smile
