looking at the design of the pipes the reason is the pipes are a 4 into 2 into 1 which will give a increase in the midrange where a 4 into 1 will give a top end power increase, that is if they have been designed properly, but you will probably have a slightly less top end power output, but to be honest how often do you use the upper part of the rev range?

Not much i'd prefer torque throughout the rev range, top ends still gives a surge above 7-8k rpm.

Can feel the wheel lifting up in second as it climbs the rev range

had these fitted to my bike recently also got a viper end can and i also noticed a bit more low down grunt Big Grin , but i also notice a slight flat spot/stutter around the 100mph mark before the acceleration picks up so going to service the bike and balance the carbs to see if this cures it.

Decided to bite the bullet and finally buy some myself - mostly for an aesthetics/power nature since the existing ones havent rusted or anything, they just really dont look nice. Also going to compliment this with a Beowulf Warrior end can and new tyres (gonna ask my friendly mechanic for his opinion on Michelin Pilot Road 3 or Bridgestone BT023)

Gonna have fun this weekend and all my money is now gone Sad Only got payed today...

down pipes fitted with a viper race can , wiring loom fitted to remove nasty alarm , runs and goes very well now and sounds the business to now lots of low down grunt ( well for a 600 anyway ) well worth the money for the exhaust system  Big Grin
