Whats the highest recorded mileage on a FZS600??
#1
I know the fazer 600 can handle a good few thousand miles, theres one on eBay sitting at 68,000 miles and apparently still going strong. Anyone clocked over 100,000 yet on the same engine without any major catastrophies??? I'm a firm believer in regular oil & filter changes with good quality oil, and as Ive just bought my 1999 Fazer with only 9,000 miles on I'm hoping its going to last me a good few years yet!!!! There's a 1999 model in Ireland with 130000, still going, cant confirm if it was miles or kilometres unfortunately. Hadnt had valve clearances checked apparently(!)

Don't believe the dealers bullsh1t - they've created the idea that an engine is finished by 20k.....do regular oil changes and it'll last 10 times that amount.
According to Bike magazine, there's a middleweight inline 4 on the uk's roads still running with over 500000 miles, and just by sticking to a normal maintenance schedule. Warm your engine before you cane it & it'll last until you're bored with it....and it be still be running

Mine's currently on 138,000 miles, though I changed my first engine a couple of years ago at 115,000. Not that there was anything terminally wrong, just a bit of piston slap... it would probably have kept going fine, I got fed up with it sounding like an old London taxicab. :lol

Used to service one for a despatch rider that had over 150k and was still going sweet.

Mine's on 57,000 and rattles a bit when started up but this quietens down once warm and pulls well enough. For the cost of a 2nd hand engine it's not worth sorting the noises.

I find it's maintaining the brakes that take most maintenance time.

65K here, has died temporarily once or twice,

wouldn't know what to replace it with if it ever
dies for good.
