Reason i ask is if you use acf 50 you should only use mild detergent to wash the bike so as not to remove the acf.
Trouble is not being too genned up on detregents i haven't got the faintest idea what is a mild detergent and what is a strong one!
I normally use muc off to clean the bike.
Thanks
won't catch me using washing up liquid guy's , it's got SALT in it ! :eek
I would go with most of the "shampoo" type wash's but the muc off I would say is a bit more agressive.
Or you could just use the muc off and re apply acf now and then to exposed parts.
Yes Fairy Liquid may contain salts but considering the tiny amount required diluted with warm water isn't going to harm anything IMO.
I used Fairy Liquid (small amount goes a long way) on a bike I owned from new for 13 years (89 - 02) and it never did any harm as far as I could tell.
Always rinsed thoroughly though.
sorry guys a tried a bit of obscure humour with the 'fairy' bit...but yes i have used washing up liquid for years with no corrosion probs....have used muc off once recently and am of the opinion its is a good product but only suitable for degreasing once in a while as it looked as if it dulled the ally swing arm
MUC OFF will dull bare alloy also leaving hideous tide marks/spots which are difficult to remove.
Remember it is a type of degreaser too so will penetrate threaded boltholes etc.
If used follow the instructions carefully, ie don't spray on and then return half an hour later to continue.
my bike is covered in ACF. (im a big fan of the stuff)
to wash it i just use water. Thats all it seems to need, done this for about the past 3/4 winters.
Probably easier to give the acf50 guys a ring/email.
I got it Eddie :lol
