Bike wont start after refitting the fuel tank.
#1
So I've had the tank off to do some work on the bike. Tank was removed to change the air and fuel filters and re route some wiring for some heated grips I've put on too.

Now, on refitting the fuel tank, connecting the electrical connection back on and ensuring that I'd switched the Fuel tap back on - the bike won't start. I get the fuel light light come on when trying to start the bike, but theres a good 1/4 of a tanks worth of fuel in there.

The bike is a 2001 Fzs 600.

Any ideas?

Cheers,

Ben

Basics first, have you kinked  the pipe. Did you deffo switch fuel tap on?

The fuel light is a bit of a red herring as it probably means you havnt reseated the connector on the tank right, however it does mean you've got to lift tank again so you have an excuse to double check everything now  Wink

Also the bike should at least fire with what was left in the carbs so is the cutout switch etc ok?

Silverdream you are a star!

Bloody basics isn't?! Off course it was the kill switch! But having removed the tank, I was convinced it was something worse than just the bloody kill switch!

And riding a suzuki myself (fazer is the Gf's) I always pull in the clutch lever on any bike I'm starting.

Anyway, I'm off to hide in the corner as I feel like a right tit now  :'(

Cheers,

Ben
