Bike Transport - Andy Clap - 30-04-21 Watcha Folks Long time since I've been on the forum. Any recommendations for bike transport companies please? Just those which people have used please. Cheers ![]() Re: Bike Transport - BBROWN1664 - 30-04-21 Foccer relay has been used before. Where from and where to? Is it rideable? Welcome back to the madhouse btw. Re: Bike Transport - Andy Clap - 30-04-21 Cheers ![]() Hampshire (near Romsey) to Derbyshire (near Matlock) Yeah, rideable, but wouldn't really want anybody I don't know riding it. Re: Bike Transport - b1k3rdude - 30-04-21 There are a bunch of couriers that can transports bikes, price last I looked was £150. Re: Bike Transport - Andy Clap - 30-04-21 Yeah, thanks. I'm really looking for a Foccer recommendation, somebody that's actually used them. This particular bike is very precious to me, hence not wanting any old company to do it. Re: Bike Transport - maxzer1500 - 01-05-21 Have used ‘the bike bus’ who are very good. Though cheap I wouldn’t use Shipley, they move anything and everything and will just cram things in, prob not above stacking things on a bike! I would just get the Mrs to follow me in the car and bring me back. As for expenses - there wont be any as is a foccer community thing. Others on here have done things for me so I would gladly help if I could. Not sure on insurance though, wouldn't want to have to claim on my insurance. Could be useful though especially if it was another Fazer as you will get 5 or so riders Fazer experience test riding and picking up any potential problems. Thing is, it's my brother's Ducati Monster 696. He died a couple of years ago. It's his, and pretty immaculate, so with all respect to all fellow Foccers I hope it's understandable I don't want anybody else riding it. Also although it's getting a good service and MOT before it's moved (there's a good independent Ducati outfit down there), it's a Ducati and hasn't done any distance in about 3 years, so I wouldn't even want to test it on a 190 mile journey myself! Sorry for the :hijack Andy Clap
Rider 1 rides to rider number 2's house and then rider 2 takes over and rides back to rider 1's house with rider 1 on the pillion and drops him off. Rider 2 then rides back on the same route, carries on past his own house and on to rider 3's abode. Rider 3 then repeats the process, dropping number 2 back at his home and carrying on back past his house and on to rider 4 etc... etc... It all works fine until rider number 17 gets to 18's house and he's decided do something else for the day without telling anyone and no one can get hold of him :rolleyes
So a 200 mile transport turns out to be 4,000 miles :lol Its like that conundrum with a chicken a fox and some grain getting across a river. |
