braided brake lines - Printable Version

braided brake lines - Disorderlypunk - 31-01-18

ok just been having a search around for some new brake lines (its about time i replaced them on the old girl)
and came across wezmoto , they seem ok and read a lot of reviews all over the place as when it comes to brakes i read everything i can on even the smaller companys (in case they aint had the good chances against HEL and GOODRIDGE)
they seem to do two kits for the fzs600 a OEM standard and a full length race kit (cheaper ?)
the only difference i can see is that OEM=4lines, RACE=3lines
i can only assume this is a duel banjo on the master cylinder and a line to each caliper for the race kit (positives and negatives on this)
i have contacted them to confirm if this is the case and dont mind if it is with my future plans but if you guys know anything please share your knowledge
i told them i am on here and doing install videos etc to let everyone know the difference so hopefully they should get back to me with everything we all need to know.

This brings back nightmares for me. :'(
I got new Venhill lines over 5 years ago and they've been absolutely fine.

You are correct the race kit comes with two front lines direct from master cylinder to each brake caliper & not three as standard setup.

There is a discount code if you chose Hel which covers their entire range including fluid. The 2 or 3 lines is a personal choice. I kept the splitter and went for 3 lines as you know already how neat it is going to look. Two lines would obviously be cheaper.

I thought the OEM brakes were 1 line from the master to a splitter and then one to each caliper = 3 lines.
A race setup would be 2 lines direct from the master to the calipers.

intresting how i mention wezmoto and everyone jumps to hel
it states in that link posted above that wez pops down and makes them for his ebay shop using there gear
there are not to many wez's in the world so im happy to guess its the same guy
unfortunatly he hasnt emailed me back yet so i have got more info on here by dinnertime than i did all day from wez lol

and ordered them aswell now - same price on there website
- when your arrive could you measure the lengths for the front as i asked him to add an inch on mine for my renthals and future MC replacment

Sorry to be a nerd. You can use a splitter on a race bike under ACU regs, as long as the splitter is not lower than the bottom yoke.

im running 789's and they are a bit tight with the oem lines (thank god for the splitter in this case)
the 789 streetfighters are a little bit higher and longer looking at the comparison tables so you should be fine with 758's
im sure the first renthals i bought for this bike were 758 but they were twisted to buggery - nice angle for them though

14.22 BRAKES For machines fitted with two front disc brakes, a split of the front brake lines for both front brake calipers must be made at or above the lower fork yoke

there are some bikes with the splitter underneath the lower yoke so its prob just a 'do em all' solution
