Running like a dog - Koreanbaz - 16-04-17 after messing with fuel tank sender issues. Bike is now running on three cylinders. Changed the plugs as you do. No better. Looks like a disturbance somewhere. Or the carb rebuild wasn't as good as suggested. :eek Re: Running like a dog - daviee - 16-04-17 did you do both at the same time carb clean and sender ? are you getting a spark on that cylinder ? Re: Running like a dog - pointer2null - 16-04-17 Check you haven't kinked the breather tubes. Re: Running like a dog - Bretty - 17-04-17 Firing on three - determine which cylinder has the issue by the temperature of the down pipes (put some spit on it). switch the spark plug caps over swap 1 with 4 and 2 with 3. See if the problem moves. If it moves it's an electrical fault if it doesn't it's a carb/fuel fault. Re: Running like a dog - Jules-C - 17-04-17 Or a spark plug fault. If fault stays in same place after swapping leads over try swapping spark plug with the one next to it and see if fault moves with the plug Re: Running like a dog - pointer2null - 18-04-17 Start where you last disturbed thing - playing with the tank sender unit shouldn't affect plugs etc. Check the easy of obvious first. Then move on. Moving the tank could also disturb water and crud from the bottom. The fule filter should take care of most of th crud. Ethanol (meths) will absorb water if added to the fuel. Re: Running like a dog - Koreanbaz - 23-04-17 Spark plugs were changed first. Removed tank, no obvious issues. Removed carbs to see what has been done. Someone has been inside as there are scratch marks in the bowls. Rubbers to the manifold, have a few cracks. But nothing seems to be right through. Like was suggested they would be ok on here Carbs 4 and 3 seperated, just awaiting ultrasonic cleaning fluid. Then I shall do each carb one at a time. I think, but I need to confirm, that three of the four pilot jets are blocked. No carburettor expert here. But I'm lead to believe they are the issue for idling. Re: Running like a dog - Koreanbaz - 24-04-17 A bit more cleaning today as I'm on-call. Removed fuel tap. It was full of shit. Emptied all the fuel out and that was also full of rust from the fuel tank. Washed the tank out. Now filled with vinegar for a few days whilst the cleaning fluid rocks up.
