Footpump Reccomendations - Phil TK - 02-08-12 Can anyone reccomend a decent footpump that works on motorcycle tyres without breaking after two weeks/leaking/letting air out when the clip is removed/falling over when you pump it etc. Me and my brother have been through 3 footpumps in as many months and have just binned a useless Halfords one. Does anyone use one of those stirrup type pumps? Only caveat is, I don't really want to spend more than £25 Re: Footpump Reccomendations - phil on a fazer - 02-08-12 this one is excellent http://www.nippynormans.com/products/pumps/item/bikers-dream-mini-footpump-with-digital-gauge-wun-8600250 its £35 on this site but I've seen it for £30...from a mountainbike online shop?? cant remember which one though sorry. Re: Footpump Reccomendations - JZS 600 - 02-08-12 I use my Topeak Joe Blow track pump for the bicycle, motorbike and car. Best not rely on the gauge though, I've got a digital gauge for that sort of thing. Re: Footpump Reccomendations - DryRob - 02-08-12 I've got a Joe Blow as well Re: Footpump Reccomendations - JZS 600 - 02-08-12 If you are blowing bicycle tyres up to 120 psi, great! If you are trying to work out either 32 or 36 psi in a front trye, need a better gauge. Oh no, the great tyre pressure debate again! (36/40 at the mo,,,,) Re: Footpump Reccomendations - Lazarus - 02-08-12 keep an eye out in LIDL/Aldi. I bought one for £35 which is a jump starter, recharger for USB connections, 2 cigarette connections chargers and a compressor. only down side is that the dial isnt calibrated so still need to use a seperate calibrated pressure gauge Re: Footpump Reccomendations - Fubar65 - 02-08-12 I bought one like Lazarus did from Godfrey DIY, The internal battery died after six months, but it was good while it lasted... Re: Footpump Reccomendations - badger - 07-08-12 I also got fed up of footpumps not lasting so brought one of these from halfrauds for £20 http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_169794_langId_-1_categoryId_255241 the pump action has lasted ok but the hose as perished ![]() Re: Footpump Reccomendations - bludclot - 07-08-12 i have gone through a few foot pumps over the years... the current michilin (single barrel) pump that takes up garage shelf space has not only outlasted every other by some margin thus far but also the built in gauge agrees with my trustworthy long term hand-held pressure gauge! so much so that i don't even bother checking my van tyre pressures with the hand gauge i just set them on the michilin pump. the only fault with it is that one of the plastic lock down tabs broke off it's tethering strap. it was a bit flimsy. |
