Re: engine re-paint, silver - red98 - 28-05-15 Cleaned the rad bottom center bracket tonight, the one that bolts to the centre of the engine, sprayed with grey primer in readyness for a top coat of black, hung it up to dry and then brushed by it and knocked it too the floor :o...I'll start again tomorrow :rolleyes Fitted the slotted timing cover plug to see what the colour match is like, I haven't painted the plug, not perfect but not bad .... Re: engine re-paint, silver - bludclot - 29-05-15 looking great red. painting can be a nightmare - i finished my r6 wheels with their final coat of lacquer on my garage floor, stood up and knocked a spanner off the shelf which fell into the rear wheel and bounced around it before settling, took a step backwards in horror at what i had done and back heeled the front wheel which fell off the wooden supporting blocks and put a load of marks into the rim! Brother from another Mother Re: engine re-paint, silver - red98 - 31-05-15 Removed masking, fitted genie cover, sprocket cover, thermostat housing , cam cover,top two coolant hoses and plug leads, oh...kicked the timing cover across the garage floor just so I could re-paint it again :o :o :o not going to re-fit the AIS as ive been given some blanking plugs , hand crafted from the original pipes by RED CERI....cheers buddy :thumbup Re: engine re-paint, silver - red98 - 02-06-15 Bit more fazering tonight, found a good fitting plug for the air box, where the AIS was fitted, also made a plug for no4 inlet rubber for the same reason....fitted oil cooler and pipe work and also the front engine mounting bar.....oh, and fitted a new oil filter ![]() Re: engine re-paint, silver - old son - 03-06-15 Paint those rusty nuts!!!! Are you going to paint them all silver? :eek :lol :lol :lol Re: engine re-paint, silver - red98 - 03-06-15 :lol :lol :lol......think that might be a little to much for me.....I am a bit worried with the amount of silver I've added to the bike over the last couple of weeks, I recon its got to amount to an extra 25 bhp, remember my bikes bodywork is also silver, all in all I think the beast will be pushing out close to 250 bhp by the time iam finished.... just fitted the clutch and timing cover, also painted the exhaust mounting flanges.........yep, more silver :eek Re: engine re-paint, silver - red98 - 04-06-15 Bit more done tonight, cleaned up the exhaust collector box, serviced the exup and fitted the downpipes.....slowly getting there ![]() |
